Residents living in South Hams are receiving a form asking them to check and update information that appears on the electoral register for their address.
South Hams District Council is asking residents to look out for the form in the post and to make sure that they respond as soon as possible.
The form makes sure that the District Council can keep the electoral register up-to-date and identify any residents who are not registered.
This ensures the right details are recorded on the electoral register for every address in the South Hams.
Anyone currently registered will receive the form. Anyone who is not, and wants to register, the easiest way is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote, or SHDC will send out information explaining how to do this in the post.
People who have moved address recently are particularly encouraged to keep an eye out for the form and check the details.
