It is to be found on the high coastal ground at the eastern end of Slapton Sands. Strete is situated on the South West Coastal Footpath and, with a variety of accommodation in the village, it is an ideal location to take a break in your journey. Torcross Tank Car Park and toilets are open again for business.
Everyone has been working incredibly hard since the damage brought by Storm Emma and the Beast from the East.
Repair works have been coordinated by local contractor Landmarc and have involved the removal of approximately 300 tonnes of shingle and 60 tonnes of rubble from the lower section of the car park and 40 tonnes of tarmac to start necessary resurfacing work.
The car park machine is currently out of order while storm damage is being fixed.

Memorial car park remains closed as work to address the significant
erosion that took place in this location continues.
Works include the generation of some additional capacity to compensate for the loss of approximately 30 spaces, in the northern section, as well as complete loss of the overflow. The works are scheduled to be completed before Easter.
toilets at Torcross also sustained damage, resulting in sand and shingle within
the block. This has now been swept out, power washed and the drains unblocked. Toilet cleaners, then cleaned the blocks by hand to finish
The toilets at the Memorial car park continue to have work carried out on them to repair the damage.
