Welcome to the official website of Strete in Devon, England, which is managed by Strete Parish Council. Strete is about a fifteen minute drive from Dartmouth. It is to be found on the high coastal ground at the eastern end of Slapton Sands. It's a good place to stay if you like exploring the local beaches and is also convenient for Kingsbridge, Totnes and Salcombe. Strete is situated on the South West Coastal Footpath and, with a variety of accommodation in the village, it is an ideal location to take a break in your journey. Take time to relax and enjoy the beautiful AONB surroundings.
The Prize Draw for the Household Survey took place on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm in the Parish Hall.
480 Household Survey forms were delivered to properties in the parish.
In total 224 response forms were counted from the Ballot Boxes which represents a 47% return of the number distributed.
A member of the public, Mrs Sheila Joy, was invited to draw the first response form from the pile of returns emptied from the Ballot Boxes to win the £100 prize.
The winning response form drawn by Sheila was that received from Mr Bob Lloyd.
Congratulations and thank you to Mr Lloyd.
Everyone in the community was invited to participate in the survey as part of the development of the Neighbourhood Plan for Strete.
Once again, a large proportion of the community have expressed their interest for the future of the village and the parish. Many thanks to all those who completed and returned their form.
The Steering Group will now start the count process of all the responses received.
Once completed these will be publicised on the website www.strete.org.uk under the section for Neighbourhood Plan, in a Newsletter (to all those signed up to receive one) and the Public Notice Boards in the village.
This will be followed by a Community Meeting in the Parish Hall, initially planned for May, when the community will be invited to comment on the progress made to date and the priorities determined from the response forms to the Household Survey.
The priorities determined from the response forms will provide objectives that the Steering Group will look to develop into policies for the future of the parish.
At each stage of the journey the community will be invited to get involved to ensure everyone has the opportunity to express their views and help shape a future for the community as a whole.
