Welcome to the official website of Strete in Devon, England, which is managed by Strete Parish Council. Strete is about a fifteen minute drive from Dartmouth. It is to be found on the high coastal ground at the eastern end of Slapton Sands. It's a good place to stay if you like exploring the local beaches and is also convenient for Kingsbridge, Totnes and Salcombe. Strete is situated on the South West Coastal Footpath and, with a variety of accommodation in the village, it is an ideal location to take a break in your journey. Take time to relax and enjoy the beautiful AONB surroundings.
Victoria Benns is the founder of BeWild, a community interest company that is encouraging local businesses to support the wildlife right on our doorstep. You can find out more on their website. One of their BeWild businesses, Coastal Trail Cafe in Dartmouth, has chosen to create an interactive Wild Wall designed to connect the community with the incredible wildlife that we live alongside and next week, 15th - 21st February, they are celebrating the launch of the project with a programme of events Wild Week Coastal Trail programme of events sheet.You'll see they've enticed lots of our enthusiastic environmental friends from local wildlife projects (The Barn Owl Trust, The Environment Agency, The Seal Project etc.) to come in and talk at the cafe in the afternoons.
