Welcome to the official website of Strete in Devon, England, which is managed by Strete Parish Council. Strete is about a fifteen minute drive from Dartmouth. It is to be found on the high coastal ground at the eastern end of Slapton Sands. It's a good place to stay if you like exploring the local beaches and is also convenient for Kingsbridge, Totnes and Salcombe. Strete is situated on the South West Coastal Footpath and, with a variety of accommodation in the village, it is an ideal location to take a break in your journey. Take time to relax and enjoy the beautiful AONB surroundings.

Strete Neighbourhood Plan - Suspension Update
Following a suggestion from Mr Dixon of Savills for an extension to the suspension period until the end of April 2020 a request was submitted to the Examiner, Ms D. McCann.
The extension was suggested to enable Mr Dixon sufficient time to undertake a detailed viability analysis on the policy word change proposals submitted.
On 13/01/2020 Ms D McCann – Examiner for Strete Neighbourhood Plan formally agreed to an extension with the following:
On the basis that the Neighbourhood Plan Group feel that the outstanding issues can be resolved satisfactorily by the end of April 2020, I am prepared to suspend my examination for a further period until 30th of April 2020.
I am, however, not in a position to extend beyond that date.
It will be necessary to ensure that this revised timescale is publicised on South Hams District Council website and any other interested parties are informed.
